Aflac's passion and commitment to treating and finding a cure for pediatric cancer makes this year's partnership with Dodger Stadium and ThinkCure a perfect fit. Aflac and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta established the Aflac Cancer Center in 1995 when Aflac made a $3 million dollar donation and a pledge to help fight pediatric cancer. To date, Aflac has contributed over $40 million to the Aflac Cancer Center.
ThinkCure is a charitable fund dedicated to supporting cancer research and finding a cure for this deadly disease. Launched in July 2007 by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the McCourt family, City of Hope, and Children's Hospital Los Angeles, ThinkCure is the official charity of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
ThinkCure has chosen two of the leading cancer research institutions, City of Hope and Children's Hospital Los Angeles, as their partners and funding beneficiaries. ThinkCure will host a series of fundraising events throughout the year to establish a broad foundation of support and all proceeds will directly benefit its local research partners. As the official charity of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Dodgers will utilize the strength and resources of the franchise to generate awareness and resources for ThinkCure to support the search for cures.

Giving back to the community is an everyday part of what we do at Aflac. We've passionately supported the fight against childhood cancer for more than 12 years and are thrilled to extend our reach by teaming up with ThinkCure
Over our philanthropic history, the extended Aflac family has given more than $40 million to childhood cancer through our relationship with the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Recognized by Child magazine as one of the top five childhood cancer centers in the country, the Aflac Cancer Center is a national leader among childhood cancer, hematology, and blood and bone marrow transplant programs, and treats more than 300 newly diagnosed cancer patients and over 1,000 sickle cell patients each year. No relationship has been more meaningful to Aflac than the one with the Aflac Cancer Center.
The sale of Aflac plush Ducks provides ongoing financial resources in the fight against childhood cancer. Since 2000, we have donated proceeds from the sale of more than 74,000 plush ducks to the Aflac Cancer Center. We also partnered with Macy's department stores for the seventh consecutive holiday season to sell special limited-edition Aflac Holiday Ducks. Since the Aflac Holiday Duck program began in 2001, the sale of these special limited-edition plush Aflac Holiday Ducks has raised more than $1.9 million for 34 hospitals around the country that treat children with cancer. And since 2003, the proceeds, totaling $525,000, from the Aflac All-American Baseball Game, a showcase of the best high school athletes, have been donated to children's hospitals and other pediatric cancer research organizations.

Curing Kids' Cancer, Inc. is an organization dedicated to researching and treating childhood cancer through two main programs, Coaches Curing Kids' Cancer and Teachers Curing Kids' Cancer. ‘Inspired by nine year old Killian Owen's battle with leukemia, Curing Kids' Cancer Inc. is a unique, national grassroots movement which aims to raise both awareness and money to find cures for all types of childhood cancer. Their programs fund the development of cutting edge therapies which will revolutionize childhood cancer treatment by replacing traditional chemotherapy. Their objective is to turn this killer disease into a curable one in our lifetime.'
Both Curing Kids' Cancer programs are devoted to raising money to support cutting-edge cancer treatments for children. They believe that by redirecting money from kids' sports teams, they can honor coaches and teachers and make a difference in the future of pediatric cancer treatment. Both Coaches Curing Kids' Cancer and Teachers Curing Kids' Cancer raise money throughout the United States and fund research and development at local pediatric cancer treatment centers.
